There Once Sat A Frog On A Pot Children's Poem
There Once Sat A Frog On A Pot
There once sat a frog on a pot!
For up on the pot he had a much better shot at catching that fly.
He kept a careful eye on where that fly flew, for he never knew which way it would go.
The fly was so shy it would never show which direction, not even in the pond reflection.
So up on the pot the frog sat. He waited and waited, the fly buzzed by and baited him.
But the frog didn't move; he sat still and frozen, for it was that fly for his dinner he'd chosen.
His only goal now was to sit on the pot ready and waiting to take his best shot at catching that fly.
The fly swiftly breezed by, in odd funny sways, as if teasing and toying annoying the frog
But frog wasn't silly, sat all willy-nilly, he sat even and steady, his tongue at the ready
Then when fly lost his oomph for less than a second, he had no time to yelp and beckon for help
Frog flicked out his tongue with thick sticky spit and just like that fly was zip zapped away
Gulp went the frog smiling all day after eating his full course of fly buffet.
