Never Belittle The Little, Some Words Will Break Your Heart
Never Belittle
Never belittle the little
when you belittle the little,
little by little you wittle them
down to the ground.

It's never too soon to love our children by building up their serif esteem and self worth. Too often I've sadly heard parents degrade their own children in ways I'm not even sure they realise they are doing. Lack of awareness around psychology and having a skewed sense relating to the power of words, may be too blame.
I grew up hearing this...
'Sticks and stones will break your bones
but words will never hurt you'
This old saying is so far wrong, it's painful to hear anyone say it to anyone else, it's a total crock of sh*t!
It is shocking to think this was very much an every day saying, I used to hear it all over the school and school playground, no child was supposed to be upset by being bullied by only words? Similar to how boys often feel as though they are not expected to cry, back then no one was supposed to cry when they were called ugly, fat, boss-eyed, big nosed, thick, thick skulled, trunky, stupid, stumpy, shorty, grumpy, wimpy, weakling, dog, cow, horse, donkey, pig and the negative word list goes on and on and on... Almost endlessly.
Maybe it should be re-worded to my new poem:
Some Words Will Break Your Heart
Sticks and stones might break your bones,
But some words will break your heart,
And if spoken to from an early age
Your inner love won't start,
And if your inner love don't start my dear
You'll live a life filled with fear
Anxiety riddled confidence crushed
All because those negative words weren't hushed!
So, when you hear 'sticks and stones break bones'
Remember words break hearts!
