Save My Self Worth

The way you engage with me
even from a young age
impacts upon me hard,
every word you say is heard
every criticism felt,
every single action
towards me that you dealt,
so, even when you think
it's just a bit of fun,
even when you think
she's too young to care
you may see me
when I'm older with
no confidence every where,
so before you call me fat,
or plump, or chubby,
or plain just take the mick,
remember each time you do it
you steal from my self worth
a little bit.
